A little boy named Tommy went to church with his grandma every Sunday. One morning, Grandma told him it was time to make his first confession. Nervous but obedient, Tommy agreed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She explained, \u201cYou go into that little booth, tell the priest your sins, and he\u2019ll forgive you.\u201d Tommy nodded, clutching his hands as they entered the church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moments later, he stepped into the confessional and sat down quietly. The priest slid open the small wooden window and smiled kindly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBless me, Father, for I have sinned,\u201d Tommy whispered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGo ahead, my son,\u201d said the priest. \u201cWhat are your sins?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tommy hesitated, then began softly, \u201cWell\u2026 I stole a pencil from school. I said a bad word\u2026 and I lied to my mom.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tommy thought for a moment. \u201cUmm\u2026 oh yeah! I threw my sister\u2019s Barbie out the window and told her she ran away.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The priest chuckled. \u201cIs that all?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tommy scratched his head. \u201cOh! And last night, I put toothpaste on Grandpa\u2019s dentures and froze them in the freezer because he snored too loud!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The priest tried not to laugh. \u201cWell, that\u2019s\u2026 creative.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But Tommy wasn\u2019t done. He leaned closer and whispered seriously, \u201cAnd Father, I also asked God if He could give my teacher a flat tire\u2026 and He did.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The priest nearly dropped his Bible. \u201cMy child,\u201d he said with a trembling smile, \u201cyou might want to go easy on your prayers for a while.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tommy grinned innocently. \u201cOkay, Father. But\u2026 does that mean they work?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
