Carmel native Morgan Taylor took “The Voice” stage for knockout rounds where she competed against her fellow singer to keep a spot on coach John Legend’s team.
Taylor, 21, who charmed all four judges in her blind audition, sang a rendition of James Brown’s “I Got You (I Feel Good)”.
“Morgan you started to open peoples’ eyes as to how amazing you can be and that’s exciting,” Legend said on Taylor’s performance. “You just nailed it. It was so good.”

Ultimately, Legend named Omar Jose Cardona the winner of the knockout round following his performance of Imagine Dragon’s “Radioactive”.
Since Legend chose Cardona, both Taylor and her teammate Ian Harrison were eliminated.
It’s not enough to be pitch-perfect during the knockout rounds on “The Voice.” You have to be larger than life.
Team John singers Ian Harrison, Morgan Taylor and Omar Jose Cardona delivered showstopping performances during the second round Tuesday night, with the hope of sticking around on coach John Legend’s team.
Harrison performed an anthemic cover of “Cough Syrup” by Young the Giant, while Taylor and Cardona offered exhilarating renditions of James Brown’s “I Got You (I Feel Good)” and “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons, respectively.
Coach Camila Cabello was spellbound by Cardona’s commanding stage presence.
“You have this giant dragon in you, but you know how to tame it,” Cabello said. “You just make it look so fun and exciting.”
Cardona’s powerhouse charisma also won over Legend, who chose the 33-year-old singer as the knockout’s winner.
